On October 2, 2013, Wilbur Ellis and Ridge Creek Golf Club in Dinuba, CA hosted “The Experience at Ridge Creek,” an invitation-only event intended to educate golf course management professionals. This is the second year Ridge Creek has hosted the educational event.
Superintendents from across the region joined representatives from Aquatrols, BASF, Syngenta, Bayer, and other industry leaders on a tour of the one-of-a-kind facility led by Superintendent Rob Lomeli.
Each hole at the upscale, public course is cared for under a different management program, providing a unique look at the strengths and weaknesses of different products and cultural practices. In the words of Aquatrols’ lab tech Alex Duffy, “the entire course is a field trial.”

All greens at the facility are currently treated with Aquatrols soil surfactants, primarily Sixteen90 and Primer Select. However, Mr. Lomeli plans to switch all of his greens to a Revolution program next year, citing the firm conditions and lack of ball marks on the Revolution-treated 9th green this season.
